the hamlet

They lived in a tiny hamlet, population 64.

When the baby was born, she made him drive her out to the green sign by the road. He held it while she used the white paint to alter the sign.

Those who drove by would from now on see that the population of Sumner, Wyoming was an exuberant 65.

I found this very interesting, for some reason. I'm partial to small towns, and that might have had something to do with it. The idea the woman wants everyone to know her baby was there, that there is another being alive on the planet, that they are no longer just '64' but '65', really got me.

Nice job, even though it's only a hanful of sentances.

You know, you could so publish a book of these. JUST these, pages and pages of little segments. I'd buy it, for one.

ABC stands for A Boy Called btw ;)

I don't know if -I- would be happy with it, is kind of the thing. I like novels.

There are some very interesting books made up of little, seemingly unrelated sections. And some of them are called novels.

I have lots and lots of scraps of paper sitting around. And, you have a blog full of little scraps! I could put my little scraps of paper up on a bulletin board, but I don't think people would comment. Here, people do.

And that's the beauty of the Internet. =)

maya i have a few books that are novels made up of little segments like these. they chronicle lives of different people who are connected by something, either a big event like a murder or they find out they all have the same father or something.

That's pretty interesting, although mine aren't connected or really character-ful. We'll see what develops, maybe.

No problem! I have been lurking in the blogger community for a while, to be honest, and finally decided to create my own little blog of creative moments. (Thanks, by the way!)
